I've been on a plant based diet for 12 years. Grow heirloom veggies in my compost garden . Distill our drinking water. No carpet in our home. Cotton clothes and sheets and the list goes on. We do organic foods such as produce, canned, frozen. Make my own almond milk. Love it🤗

I live in the UK and trust me that no addictive substances are required in Heinz ketchup, it's plenty addictive already.

I learned about all this years ago when I went to a holistic integrative nutrition school. We definitely run on a sick care model and the rich just keep getting richer. It’s horrible.

The health services in the U.K. are free at point of contact, paid from our taxes. An unhealthy population puts a greater strain on this resource. A healthy population lives longer, is more productive and costs the government, and by extension the tax payer less. The obesity epidemic we see today in the U.K. is primarily caused by American fast foods, and junk foods, soda, pizza, chips, and crisps, hot dogs, McDonalds, KFC, and all the other shite that goes with it.

It is true at least for the Quaker oats, as I just looked at the one in my kitchen here in the UK and it's basically oats and a bit of sugar, that's it, tastes great too.

This was very eye opening. I wish you'd also include the nutrition facts, but I can try and find out on my own

One easy thing to avoid is ANY PRODUCT THAT IS ADVERTISED. If they have to trick you into buying it must mean it's no good. Ever seen an advert for vegetables or fruit? Neither have I.

US citizens are taught to hate "big government." EU regulations help protect consumers by creating healthier animal and food growing conditions plus the processing of these foods. It's not perfect but so much better than what we see in the US. Will be interesting to see if the UK moves away from these (and its own strict regulations) post-Brexit and become more like the US.

This is what I've been saying for years.

Yes yes yes… we just came back from London and the food was amazing. Never felt sick at all our slouchy. Hence why I try to buy import cheeses etc from Europe

Here's hoping the UK/US trade deal falls flat on its face when they start arguing over food safety standards again.

Even though I don't think people should be eating this garbage anyway (whether they're in the US or the UK) he brings up a good point with how much food companies can get away with selling crap. The only good thing the government enforces is nutrition facts. We have to take advantage of it and focus on eating whole, fresh foods.
