If they win the treble unbeaten across all competitions, they have got to be amongst the best teams in football history

The prospect of going unbeaten and winning the treble is singlehandedly the greatest ever achievement of any team in modern football.

"Realistically its only Eintracht Frankfurt"
Stuttgart in 3rd:

I saw the game Bayer 04 vs Werder Bremen and when Bayer 04 won 5-0 to win their first Bundesliga title, first German title I was extremely happy considering a new Bundesliga winner and not a 12th straight Bayern München winner

2:30 they still have to beat Stuttgart which basically is Leverkusen 2.0 this season. They arent unbeaten but last year the survived the relegation playoffs and now they are on 3rd place playing one of their best seasons in a very very long time. They only faced each other twice this season. 1st time was a 1:1 draw and second time was in the DfB Pokal where Leverkusen won thanks to a extra time goal. So if someone can Stop them domestically its probably only VfB Stuttgart.

Talking about the 2002 campaign, what is even more tragic is that the captain and leader of that team was Michael Ballack, who would also go to lose in the World Cup final against Brazil. Possibly the greatest individual season by a player of all time and it all ended in heartbreak.

As a Dortmund Fan I’m so happy for Bayer Leverkusen man. So happy that someone was finally able to stop Bayern’s continuous dominance in the Bundesliga 😆

They're no longer Neverkusen...and hell, even if they don't go invincible, if they still win a treble...they're tripling their trophy cabinet in a single year. Alonso, his coaching staff, that front office and the players deserve all the credit in the world for what they did this season.

Don’t forget Stuttgart as a tough opponent. They’re 3rd in the Bundesliga, and if Leverkusen weren’t having the season they are, a lot of people would be talking about their season.

I’m from London but live in Germany and honestly I much prefer The Bundesliga to the prem in every way bar the title race.

The fans, culture, ticket prices, atmosphere, stadiums, European place race and relegation race are all amazing.

Praying that Leverkusen and Dortmund etc keep pressure on fc Hollywood because all that’s been missing is a title race .

The prem is now a soulless league run by yank investment funds.

When you said that the only team possible of shocking Leverkusen in the league would be Eintracht Frankfurt, that’s not really accurate, because VFB Stuttgart sitting on 3 place is a much harder challenge than Frankfurt siting on 6 place.

Still a great coverup about the current situation and keep up the work!

The Invincible Treble has to be greatest achievement...not even a sextuple can top that 🔥🔥

I'm genuinely shocked at how well Bayer Leverkusen are doing! In fact they are doing better than Arsenal's invincibles! They may actually be the first football team in history to win a treble without losing a single game and if that happens we've got to consider Bayer Leverkusen as a serious threat! They are now nicknamed Neverlosen for a reason! They've actually been my favourite team to watch simply because of how they play and how resilient the team is

I’m happy that there is a new time on the rise, in this case leverkusen, because like when City won the Premier League for the first time people were happy that it wasn’t just United and Arsenal, in this case Bayern and Dortmund. I’m exited to see what Leverkusen can do in the future.

Amazing. Watched them in October 2019 against my fave team (Juventus) and they appeared to be nowhere near the level required of a CL participant, even with Havertz on the squad. They were the epitome of 1 step forward followed by 2 backwards. Alonso changed that culture of complacency and losing in less than 2 years.

As a Dutchman… I definitely feel this way about the top talents in the eredivisie. And then they often aren’t given the time or trust the need.
