Only 3 hours away from Bangkok, this is a great island to escape for a weekend or to spend a week or two chilling out and enjoying some cool fire shows at night. After watching your video on Koh Samet, we decided to end our 3 month stay in South East Asia with 10 days on the beach on Koh Samet. Thank you so much for recommending this island as we absolutely love it and we would not have gone if it was not for your video. We loved walking the beach, the slow pace, many restaurants to choose from and the nightly fire shows. We would definitely go back!

Our first of many Samet visits was 34 years ago when we were in our late 20, s, The reason it stays less developed and clean is because its a National Park! I urge all mid lifers to get out and travel before you get too set in your ways and the Thai islands are a great place to start, skip Phuket and Samui its too late for them.

Great video, thanks for posting. The fire shows are not free, you are supposed to tip the performers. They have to make a living also.
