I like how the CBC starts at a description of how a conservative government changed some rules to issue a contract without competition. It might have been better to give the whole story describing how the Canadian Navy had lost both of it's previously out dated supply ships and had no means of supporting itself in it's role. The Harper government had to award a contract for this ship as an emergency stop gap means to keep the navy sailing. When the Liberals took over they wanted to rescind the contract, waste a number of years and a large amount of money to allow a few more friendly ship builders have a chance at the contract. Vice-Admiral Norman, was only doing his job as a project manager to keep a critical navy project on track, while the Liberals were playing politics.

So, we're told we should have blind trust in the justice system, there's no polictical interference because that's the way it's suppose to work. Well, surprise maybe we need to take a closer look at what really happened, not what should have.

The parliamentary secretary to the minister of justice is talking so fast I found it hard to follow him so, I had to replay his responses several times. Basically he creates a great big word salad and says nothing. It's like listening to responses during the governments question period. If there isn't an independent review of what happened with the Mark Norman case the Canadian public won't get any answers.

Why/Who started the RCMP investigation into Vice-Admiral Mark Norman which lead to these charges? If the evidence from that investigation was so strong to lead to the charges, where/what is that evidence? The question of political interference isn't about how this case was dropped, it was about how this case started.

The charges were withdrawn because Leslie walked, will testify in support of Norman and the balance shifted to being beyond their control. Plain as.
