To put it in the words of a random person "This song isn't sad. Dancing in the Dark was sad. Daylight was bittersweet. This is heartbreaking." And I absolutely agree with them. This is so much about the fears of losing someone so important to you that you may have been unintentionally pushing them away or suffocating them in your life. And frankly, it hurts to hear this song. It so sad, but therapeutic to hear, like I needed to hear this. Few songs engage with me this much, it's truly a treat and an emotional ride through and through.
