My husband was a Democrat for years yet we seemed to agree on a lot. Then in 2016 when Hillary ran he said he couldn’t be a democrat anymore because of the type of person they had running for president. We knew of the lies and deceitful things she had done. He left the party and was an independent for some time before becoming a republican. He had to admit that GOP policies agreed with him more than the Democrats. This young lady is not alone. Many are seeing that it’s not always the party as it is the person running.

So funny to see people abandoning the democrat party after finding out that they are most definitely not the party of working people. Democrats hate people who aren't wealthy.
Now...I'm by no means wealthy. I'm a black female veteran in my 30s who owns a small business. I have been to so many Republican events in my area. Just mingling with politicians and normal people like myself. I was even at a watch party with a bunch of representatives here in Missouri while we all at nachos, wings, and drank beer at Buffalo Wild Wings. I was welcomed and we all just talked like there was absolutely no difference between us. I was actually overdressed for all of these events. I mean, these republican politicians were dressed in jeans and t-shirts. I absolutely love hanging out with them. I started getting invited by my friend who's husband is a local politician. Then she ran for an office and won. They invite me to everything now. But they don't kick anyone out, they don't separate themselves from average citizens. They just chill and have fun. I love being a republican and feeling no pressure to be anything but myself around them.
