I watched this video right after my mother and sister tried to talk me into getting "fair". They want me to get a dermatologist's treatment in order to make my skin lighter for "better" marriage proposals. Wallahi I am done with this societal pressure and unrealistic beauty standards. Facing colorism kills me every day.

When i really tried to keep my skin clean and look good.. used facewash and all kind of product.. i still got pimples.. now i just focus on prayer and not on how u look.. i actually think i have a better skin now.

Me, personally, do not care about my appearenve to other people. I get mocked by my class all the time for my physical features (like my hairline XD). But I don't really care because I know that my value is not my body, but the condition of my heart. Mufti menk has the best reminders on YouTube, and he is a very beautiful brother ☺️

When I was growing up I faced a lot of shame. One, for being Black and worst of all coming from an ethnic minority deemed to be very poor. It was a hell of trying to balance out many things. But I realized the "You are Beautiful" after my self esteem till date has been battered. God Help me to correct the anomaly.
