My 5 YO daughter is newly diagnosed with T1 Diabetes, she now has the G6 and it is a life changer, however, it wasnt until we started watching your videos that we actually learned some really valuable tips, thank you for sharing your experiences and teaching us how to better use the G6.

I have been very happy with my G6. It's been about 6 months now. I'm also grateful for your videos since I used the info I gained from them to make my decision to switch. Your tips have helped me so far to never have a sensor come off or stop functioning.

I really appreciate your content, my man. Been type 1 diabetic for almost 22 years and I got my dexcom g6 just under 6 months ago, had no idea it'd work on my arm until your video describing "best places ranked" for the sensor. Seriously thank you, much anxiety has been reduced.

You are an amazing teacher!!! I'm T1 juvenile onset diabetic (diagnosed 40years ago). I've had the G6 and had many mishaps of poor placements. I appreciate you discovering different sights that work. Your diplomatic reminders to actually do blood sugars on a separate meter, new lancet every time, wash your hands... ( you cracked me up with your chastising humor). That was the kick in the arse I've needed. Also the comments had great tips. Thank you all.
(Opps...not Rich A. comment, but Dedra Anderson's comment)

Great job!
I would like to add another tip: “Presoaking” your next Sensor. This involves only physically inserting your next Sensor only ahead of time, I try to do it around 8 hours ahead. It really does help to minimize the often wacky readings you get after starting a new Sensor.
I had read about it on “TuDiabetes”. At first I thought it was bad advice, but I was frustrated with how often I would get wacky (mostly LOW) false alerts on a new Sensor.
I started on G6 for a few months, then G5 for a year, then back to G6 now for 2 years.
Thank you for your hard work making this excellent, helpful video!

I have been diabetic for 7 years, been using a libre for 2 years until this month. I just got the Dexcom G6 for during and a year after my pregnancy (I'm almost 15 weeks :) ), and I really love it! It is so much easier and more convenient for a busy person like myself who works on hospital wards all day. The constant need to scan the libre sensor would mean that if I was busy, I would completely forget and end up with not many readings, making my blood sugar management more tricky for my busy lifestyle. Dexcom allows me complete freedom to know my blood sugars all day everyday without the need to physically stop and scan. I know that I can just check it when I have the chance and it will tell me the data for the time period! Its superb! Thank you for showing how to remove the Dexcom, this is something I struggled with the first time, and I wouldn't have even thought to use the oil. Your videos are always so informative and helpful and make me feel more confident in my own diebetes management! God bless!

Good info...Skin-Prep is not sticky, Skin Tac is. hypafix tape is the best and least expensive overpatch available and it is replaceable without removing the sensor.

I like your tut on disassembly and disposal. I did research into medical / sharps disposal years ago. What i found is, most hospitals dont even have the infrastructure to dispose of them properly. I like your solution as it optimizes the medical / sharps waste from the rest of the recyclable materials.

I just finished my second sensor while watching your "hacks" thanks for the content, I learned a bit from it. Cheers!

Tom, I am so glad I found your channel! First, I am not diabetic but I have hyperinsulinemia - a complication of gastric bypass surgery for weight loss in 1993. My condition was "accidently" discovered in 2009 when I was seeing an endocrinologist about another issue and my BS reading was 40 (2.2 everywhere but here in the U.S.). Long story short my worst crash has been 20 (about 1.1 converted?) and to say that I have been scared at times is an understatement. My biggest nightmare is that I will crash in the middle of the night and never wake up. I am 69 but in no rush to check out yet! About two weeks ago I got a reality check when our two pups woke my husband up to go out (both senior dogs) after we were deeply asleep and I was awakened by the noise - rare with my hearing aids out. I felt "funny" so I did a finger stick and I was crashing. I was WIDE AWAKE then and had to treat. What if...? That is when I asked my doctor for a G6 so I could visibly track what my BS trends are and have an alarm to warn me before things got risky. We don't have an endocrinologist where I live and traveling 100 miles to access one is painful, at best. My GP and I are doing the best we can together, and I think he is learning from me about some things. Having to correct the low BS with food is not a good thing as I struggle with weight issues. I lost 200 pounds after the bypass but have gained back about 80 of them as my mobility has drastically decreased. You could say I am a "relatively healthy" fat chick with bad bones! I have had 4 total joints replacements - so far - and I have a neurostimulator in my lower back to moderate some of the pain. You could say I am bionic, and like one of your other viewers, could celebrate Halloween as a Borg! The hearing aids are a random plus due to a firing range incident 3 years ago. After my life story, my husband is a type 2 diabetic who, it seems to me, is uncontrolled and in denial. His doctor has him insulin dependent and prescribed him a G6 which he has adamantly refused to use at all. He is an adult and very opinionated so convincing him to use it is futile. I wish I could just get through that tough exterior and help him realize...
Thanks again for all of your insight to using the G6. It helped me to feel less worried about the potential problems and how to prevent them. I will be watching more of your videos, for sure, and MAYBE you will get through to my hubby where I can't. ❤️

I love the outside of my arm! I just was hesitant because I am a wheelchair user and I was greatful that it stayed in place with a overlay (Not just a patch) and the overlay helps my medical teams know that it’s my cgm cuz its bright green! My favourite colour

Once again thank you for your advice. I was doing a calibration during 1st few hours of new sensor. I won't do that again now. New to cgm's so am still learning.

My happy spot is the back fatty part on my arm. It gives me the best accuracy and adhesion.
