Florida Fish & Wildlife Police: Marine Enforcement

In this video we take a step back from the celebrity arrests, high-speed pursuits, epic tasings, Jeremy Dewittes, and similar high-octane content. Because this is Real World Police, and those incidents - though certainly real - are not representative of your average encounter with law enforcement. Flipping that around, they are similarly not representative of your average day in the life of a police officer. Real police work tends to be mundane, centered around paperwork more than anything resembling action.

For today's hat-tip to mundanity we turn to Florida's Fish & Wildlife Police for the enforcement of tripletail bag and length limits against a visitor from Alabama.

When the game warden tells you you have a nice boat, get ready for the ticket....

Would have been better if Jeremy Dewitte popped out of the water with SCUBA gear and boarded the ship acting like Seal Team 6

"Could've gave me a warning" They had a pleasant conversation but you know the guy is calling the officer every foul name in the book under his breath.

Captain De Witte here. Move over, I am on a Maritime Security Escort. Lets get some speed 100 knots!

Totally could have given him a warning. I'm all for writing, but leading him on like that with all the friendly conversation was kind of fucked up.

I fully support wildlife management, but a misdemeanor for a fish is a bit much...

"I'm not 'fishing', I'm boating! 'Fishing' is the commercial harvesting of any creatures of a piscene nature! I have a constitutional right to boating! Am I free to go? I demand to speak to your supervisor!"

Pulling over grandparents with their grandchild, with 2 fish, no past violations, and now grandpa has a criminal record, gee I wonder why Marine Police are hated…

That jazzy intro is becoming Pavlovish to me. I teem with anticipation at what I'm about to see lol. Once again, RWP delivers!

WoW! I can't stand people that intentionally break fish and game laws. However, I think this guy deserved a break.

I'm Pro Law Enforcement But This Was just absolutel overkill. The cop could have at least given him a warning. The man appears to be 50 plus. Imagine he went his whole life without a criminal charge to now face a misdemeanor over the wrong size fish. Also he was an out of stater meaning he would have to hire an attorney to show up in court and represent him or travel all the way back to Florida to handle this. Using his discretion to give warnings should have been applied here! Sheesh feel bad for the message and interaction that encounter may negatively have on that man and his daughters view of law Enforcement going forward. Just sickening if you ask me!
