Hotel Review: Steigenberger Thüringer Hof, Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany - November 2015

I stayed at the Steigenberger Thüringer Hof in Eisenach for one night in November 2015. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from Eisenach's main railway station. It is a classic old hotel, which is well maintained and has retained its historic features both externally and internally.

I paid £50 (€71.40) for a room for one night, room only. I had requested a room on a high floor with a view of the square in front of the hotel. I did get a room on a high floor with a view over the city towards Wartburg, which in retrospect was better.

The room was large, very nicely lit and comfortable. It felt very cosy and I was happy to stay there. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and polite, speaking good English.

Breakfast was quite expensive, I don't remember exactly what, but possibly around 15 Euro. The breakfast buffet was very good though - no complaints there at all.

I would certainly consider staying at this hotel again in future, although as an aside, I noticed that there didn't appear to be air conditioning, and I'm not sure if I would want to stay in a room that wasn't air conditioned during the Summer months, which get very warm in Germany.
