Thanks for the disclaimer at the beginning, mad respect for creators that do this instead of leaving their audience in the dark.

As a chipotle employee, with online orders we tend to just try to get the orders done as fast as possible and do the normal serving sizes for every order. In person the customers are able to ask for more or less which makes it easier to the customers' liking

Yes they rip you off because they charge more. Not talking about the delivery fee’s but in general they inflate their prices on apps

Thank you for being transparent and not overblowing this single case like it's what happens everytime like some other creators do

It's not a rip-off, it's the fact that Uber Eats takes part of the item-price as some kind of service-fee so most restaurants have to compensate by either increasing the price or reducing the portion size for 3rd-party-delivery. The best way to combat this is to order directly at the restaurant and not via Uber Eats or Doordash or any of these delivery services if possible...

Thank you for even doing this one, swear this been a thing for years, but props for not leaving out how multifactorial this is.

I used to work at chipotle, the digital line is the last priority of the workers, so the people making entrees for digital orders tend to be more conservative on the portion sizes so that they won’t have to wait on food to be brought back. If they give normal portions to digital orders, the line runs out quick and like I said nobody working grill is gonna prioritize making food for the digital line when there’s an in-person line out the door.

The disclaimer about the small sample size to be conclusive was really great. That’s why I respect you and love your videos. No bs

When I ordered a bowl online, I opened the bowl at home and literally had one flat layer of rice and less than half a spoonful of steak when I ordered double steak. Tiny shreds of lettuce. I was so disgusted, that I went back to Chipotle and the manager was amazed at how measly the bowl was and comped me my money and gave me a new bowl for having to come back. Burritos have always been well sized when ordering online.

As someone who works there it all depends on who is making it and if they are feeling nice lol also if you order in person any extras of non-protein and guac are free so you can get away bigger entree that way

Finally a smart take on this topic and not some rando scam. Thank you.

One thing to take into account is that for an in person burrito they don’t know how much stuff u want inside so they might have to be more conservative to make sure it can fit by the time ur done while on uber they can see the number of ingredients u want

Yes, you do more in person, but only if you speak up. You can always ask them to give you a little more of everything that they’re scooping in. You don’t have to be a pain in the ass about it but sometimes they are a little bit of a pain in the ass about how much they’re giving you like a single scoop that’s not even full.

If you like ordering through the chipotle app Few tips:

1. Order at a time that not busy! I find that if they can take your time assembling your burrito or your bowl they tend to load it up a bit more.

2. Tipping through the chipotle app means nothing to your specific order. I learned talking to someone in the restaurant they don’t even see the tips till well after the fact when they get paid and don’t know who tipped.

3. Order bowl and 2 tortillas, light rice with whatever you order. See if they add more meat and cheese to make up for halving the rice. They won’t double up your meat and cheese, but you might get a bit more. If you do, that’s what you do I find that I can make two fairly decent burritos out of a single bowl.

Depends on the time too. Sometimes they'll give you an f ton if they're about to close

Chipotle is honestly such an amazing deal. If you know all the hacks, then you literally can get 2 meals for the one burrito. They will give you as much rice, beans, salsa, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, fajita peppers as you want. Just ask for another scoop of whatever until you are satisfied. I always do 2 big scoops of rice and beans, then I ask for half portion chicken, half portion steak, I do that because literally everytime the employee will just do a scoop of each meat and it’s always nearly double meat without actually getting and paying for double meat. Use those hacks

In my experience they do. The burrito was practically tearing itself apart from how fat it was. When I Uber it two days later from the same place I swear it was like half the size for the same thing.

I used to work for chipotle and yes they put less food for online orders (especially when they are short on stuffs in the front, so that they can conserve the meats before they can cook new batches)
