Trump shooter identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks

Authorities have identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the gunman who shot at former president Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday.

It is believed that Crooks was stationed on the roof top of a building on the perimeter of the rally. Crooks is from a town less than an hour away from Butler.

It’s still unknown how Crooks was able to climb on top of the roof with line of sight view of the former president. A motive has yet to be established.

In Pa you are required to register as a Democrat or a republican to vote in the primaries. Primaries are generally more important than general elections

My curiosity is how they identified him so fast. My guess is they ran his gun, but i wonder if they figured it out in some other way. His name was in the news as early as like 2 hours after incident, and he was carrying no id.
