The problem with "write what you know" and this generation is that nobody has any real lived experience aside from watching a TV show or playing a video game. Hemingway experienced a civil war, Rimbaud was a gun runner, Melville was a sailor, Burroughs was a fugitive. These modern writers are nothing more than nepo babies who grew up in a sanitized echo chamber, whose biggest life struggle was that time they had to make eye contact with their DoorDash driver.

Tumblr falling caused so much of this. Because companies really thought that twitter "engagement" was 1:1 for sale projections. I really miss the old days. When people on the internet that didn't like a community or piece of media just left. I hate them as much as the ones from years past that wanted to censor or ban video games. Saying it should be done because games "caused violence."
