Seventh generation (2015–present)

The seventh generation Astra was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in September 2015. A total new development the car is 200 kg lighter than its predecessor. It features a new developed 1 litre 3 cylinder petrol engine. A special feature is the "OnStar" system, which allows you to call for assistance with an in built dial. Because it is a GM licensed development it will be discontinued in 2020 as Opel Vauxhall was sold to the Peugeot group in 2017.

Nice one, I attempted this and it worked a treat, though in the end I didn't even have to change the bulb, just reseated it. The major struggle was getting the housing unit out. Took a lot of persuasion ha ha. Great video though, thanks!

Top man! Sorted on Saturday afternoon. Got the driver side done in 5 minutes but the passenger took ages. I couldn't pull the light from the car after removing the fixing nut. I was ages scratching my head wondering why it wouldn't come off then found there were TWO bolts on that one but only 1 on the other driver's side (and like the other videos on here about changing bulbs). Total schoolboy error on my part, but in the end after a lot of swearing and cussing i changed that too. Better than paying Halfords £20 to do it.

The trickiest bit seems to be releasing those plastic lugs without snapping something.. that and knowing what kind of bulb you need before getting into the whole thing, so thanks for that info as well (owners manual is useless in that department).

Do you need to remove the entire side panel in the boot? Or can you access the little plastic screw holding the light assembly through the small «door» on the interior panel? 😊

Brother got a question, I changed the Indicator bulb after watching this video but the message won't go away from the dash, someone said apparently it can only go away via a computer and its an electrical issue, is that right ? I noticed some fuses or cables where the twist knob is to open the unit, thought maybe if I disconnect and re connect that would work ?
