i will never forget the day my father got a ds for christmas and the sd card of games that my mom downloaded by totally legal memes. i spent 3 years in harvest moon grand bazar with very miniscule progress because i was a child and didn‘t know how game prgression works

Got my new 3ds xl in like 2016 and found it again recently (and modded it immediately). Modded it's easily the best if not for the price. The prices are nasty.

Not many people know about it, but the 3DS can run both DS and GBA games natively.

You can play three whole generations of Nintendo handheld games from the last 20+ years with hardware level emulation, an underrated gem.

Can it run console level titles like the Switch does? Nope, but it's a gaming console smaller than my phone and almost as light. Also the battery is pretty good, been using it for 13 years and it still works well

Don't forget that the gameboy advanced sp can play gameboy and gameboy color games with a back light and charger and has gba movies and shows for some of the games so yea get a gba sp

If you wanna play gameboy line game the sp if you want ds games and advance games then Ds lite

I bought a new 3ds xl in fairly good condition for only $140, and it plays a load of really good games when modded. GBA, SNES, and DS are but a few. The cheats are also really easy to use and save files can be easily injected.

I take your point, but with the Advanced SP (£50-80) and a 2DS XL (£100), you can legally play the entire Nintendo handheld library up to the Switch. But I agree that both the DS Lite and the DSi are amazing value and they are fantastic form factor. Similarly, the Vita is still incredible. If hacked, a Vita and a 2DS XL could cover both libraries up to a few years ago, as well as Game Gear, PS1 and of course, NES and SNES. Would you even need an emulator after this?
Alternatively, spend £20-30 for a DSi and be amazed!

Nintendo 2DS XL is the best one hands down if you ask me. Tons of emulation options lots of games and an R4 or twilight menu gets you access too all the games you could ever dream of. My 2dsxl is my most played Nintendo console ever
