The Kingdom of Aksum was a kingdom that encompassed much of Ethiopia and Eritrea in ancient times. B.C. From the 4th century AD. This kingdom, which existed until the 7th century, was one of the trade centers of East Africa. Its capital was the city of Aksum and it grew rich by trading with the Roman Empire. It had a strong economy with control of gold, spices and other trade products. It was one of the first kingdoms to adopt Christianity. It was divided into pieces in the mid-7th century when Arabs moved into the region. However, its cultural and religious heritage still continues in Ethiopia and Eritrea today.
