Former Rep. Liz Cheney has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. The Republican investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol and decried former President Donald Trump as a danger to the nation. CBS News campaign reporter Shawna Mizelle has more.

The 2022 election results out of Wyoming confirmed what much of the political universe had anticipated: Rep. Liz Cheney, once a rising star in the GOP, lost her seat in Congress to Harriet Hageman, a primary challenger endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Cheney, the daughter of a former Vice President, transformed over the last two years from someone who voted with Trump 93% of the time into one of his fiercest antagonists, a result of her refusal to abide by his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. She declined to vote to decertify the election results in key battleground states he lost, voted to impeach him for inciting an insurrection, and was the vice chair on the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
