One of the best opener in Test Cricket. The great Sunil Gavaskar appreciating the genius of one the greatest all-rounder in the history of the game, the great Kapil Dev.

Watching cricket at 90s .. it was hard to score centuries back then ... So for Kapil paaji to score the world record 175 at such crucial time is a wonder of its own ...

Sunny was a super star and came from a power house called “Bombay”. On the other side we had this guy from Rural Haryana with Raw aggression. I am sure there were bound to be clashes of opinions. But I am really really glad that Sunny being the senior was so supportive to Kapil Dev

Sunil Gavaskar changed so much from his playing days and he is such an amazing personality. He is very frank and gives a lot of credit to others and downplays his role which is how a gentleman should be. He is so always in front of you in the comm box, analysis’ etc that you tend to neglect the achievements that he made. He has mellowed like fine wine and though his animosity with Kapil during the 84-85 period are well documented, he has mostly forgotten it I guess.

Roger Binny, Madan lal and Sandhu with Kapil was a formidable bowling line up especially in England when they had green top pitches. In todays fitness regime they would have been world beaters like our present crop of bowlers

True gentlemen- Gavaskar, Kapil, that era was great...they never had a chance, no hope to win but India won against mighty West Indies. They didn't even used to get paid for playing for country...that time! even Kapil said in one interview that after the 1983 win they were in dressing room of lords and champagne 🍾 party was going on!! but Kapil and team thought that who is going to pay for the goddamn champagne!! they are being celebrated, India came together in 1983..it was remarkable but the team was unaware of it.. everything was so innocent and pure! they couldn't even think to party with a champagne after the world cup win! it was a big deal!! that era, India team had numerous constraints for selection board, world cup committees, teams etc etc!! still they played their game! Kapil won! India won! we should show immense amount of respect for yester year, greatest cricketers who have actually paved the way of Indian cricket, they made history unknowingly... nowadays, when people bash these senior, veterinary cricketers I feel upset, that we have got 0 respect for these legends? who has inspired million Indians to play and watch cricket!! Have some respect, it goes a long way.

Sunny Gavaskar was the first to take on the big bullies of cricket on their soil. That is his legacy! Best 👍🙏👍

I have seen this entire chat show twice.. and I must confess, I never thought I would enjoy Sunil Gvaskar's chat show more than any current cricketer's (except Neharaji, his was incredible)

The fact that one of the best batsmen ever to grace the game of cricket tells you that Kapil Dev's innings changed the history of cricket forever, just goes to show you how it's easily the best ODI innings of all time (only one up there is Maxwell's 201 vs Afghanistan).

In winning Test matches Gundappa Vishwanath scored more than Sunil Gavaskar. He took two names Vishi and Kapil both are true Indian. Vishi saved India many times, his technic was great mostly square cut. When we talk about batting, bowling, fielding, Captain ship Kapil's name is always there.

Agreed. Kapil transformed the game. It led to Yuvi's mind blowing batting prowess, MSD's 2011 innings in the final, Virat's explosion in T20. And there was this Tendulkar guy. Much respect to our current bowlers tho, especially the pacers. You rocking it all over.
