This is old wiring in the UK. The Feed cable which is the power cable goes in to common. Then you have 2 cables that go from L1 and L2 (Strappers) to the other switch which L1 & L2 make sure they both are in the correct terminals. Then on the second switch you run another single cable to the ceiling light which is your switch wire. Lastly you will need to connect neutral to ceiling light to the main board. Or another ceiling light which has a neutral to make a connection.

Hi ..I have a room wall light switch ON / OFF for a ceiling light ( downstairs).. I bought a Switch similar to above as the wall switch was damaged, but inside the wiring was only 3 wires, two RED at L1 and L2 with a Yellow at COM with a bit of RED tape round the wire, now I have a situation the ROOM light ( ceiling is OK it goes on and off ...BUT all other ceiling Lights in all other rooms rooms are not working ( Ceiling Lights ) but all lower additional lights ( bedrooms lamps Example ) are ok if working from a room plug .
