I have been having most of peri menopause symptoms for the last year and went to my gyno with my concerns a couple weeks ago. She said you are not in it, your to young, you can still have babies easily, you need birth control pills to even out your cycle and you need to diet. She said “I always tell my friend it’s easier to not eat then to meal plan”. So if she doesn’t have time she just fasts. Then she informed me that all my symptoms are annoying at best but not life threatening so you can try the birth control or just deal with it. Birth control has always messed me up bad so after we were done having kids my husband got a vasectomy. Left the apt and cried in my car. Ran into you online and feel better about life! Thanks!!!

I had a doctor tell me I wasn't qualified to diagnose myself because I don't have a medical degree.... um excuse me? I that it was called self advocating.. also if you had to whip out the Ole you're not the one with a medical degree bit, you probably suck at your job and chances are you already know it. Thank you for giving silenced suffering women their voices back!

I was just thinking, I wish people had "warned" me when I was younger how bad periods can be. It affected my college, jobs, life. Some women don't have these issues. Some do.

Same with meno. Peri was worse than meno, thankfully.

Yes, at 43 my doctor told me I was too young as well. I went to my OBGN 6 months later and they were like yep you’re perimenopausal.

My gyno left me naked on the table for 50 minutes before coming into the room. I already had a full head of steam when she and her assistant came in.. I had a list of symptoms and questions which must have exasperated the doctor.. how dare I have questions! She cut me off and proceeded to SCOLD and SHAME me for advocating for myself! I am 53 and in the full throws of perimenopause. I am normally very composed, but my rage was too much. I hopped off the table before she could even start an exam. I scolded HER for being an ass and left the office. Needless to say, SHE. IS. FIRED! Prayers to all.

I’m 49, doc said I was in perimenopause. Estradiol makes me retain water no matter how much I drink. She told me to go get estroven cream at the drugstore when I asked to have my estradiol adjusted

So disgusted with the our healthcare industry. As a nurse who was indoctrinated in 1992 but has since woken up I am angry at the gaslighting. 5 gynes later ..want to do ufe, mirena, tah bso...I only wanted a way to shrink fibroids, decrease bad high estrogen and take compounded progesterone...one said I don't know how to order it. Would only order 100mg cause it's not "fda" approved....I said I don't need my caps to look like superman (dyes) or have titanium dioxide. She said she can no longer help me. I have found D.I.M. and it helped. Thanks for listening Dr. I respect you immensely.

I sought help for severe hot flashes, among other symptoms, at a women’s health center at age 46. I was in tears. The hot flashes were every 30 minutes or so throughout the day, sending heat to my face which felt like it was crackling!! I had night sweats all night. I was so miserable, I was just despondent. I was told I was too young to be entering menopause, so should try MEDITATION.

Who cares abt the suffering of us women, right? But at some point men can't get it up, anymore? Well this is unacceptable! Let's spend gazillions of research dollars for the "fix a flat" pill. 😖🙄

3 years after my last period I asked my female DO about checking my hormone levels because couldn't lose weight after gaining some. She said, "I can guarantee your levels are low but if you're not have severe symptoms then there isn't much to worry about". 🙄

Yeah, I've heard a lot of those and the sad thing is my doctor is a woman. She tried to put me on an anti-psychotic because I had hyperthyroidism and menopause at the same time. Yes I was a little emotional but for the love of God who wouldn't be?

I asked my doctor about natural supplements for perimenopause. He explained that my uterus was, and I quote, "like a lawn mower that won't start, and then on a hard tug it may start up eventually"...I laughed loudly, I couldn't help it!
