The next 'best diver under £1000'?!!!! Tusenö Shellback Watch Review

Tusenö’s goal "is to be the number one manufacturer of high-quality watches with a combined production in Sweden and Switzerland", and they apparently won’t stop until they reach that goal.

As soon as I saw the designs of this (it’s been shared a lot on Facebook groups and the like by Alexander, the co-founder) when they were first shared, I knew it was going to be a hit. The angular case, simple yet modern sandwich dial, and unusual handset certainly make it stand out from a design perspective. But whilst it might look nice, is it well-built, and does it offer good value for money with an RRP of €795 / $795? Let’s check it out.

Would the clasp be able to be replaced with another aftermarket clasp?

Recently ordered a Tusenö Shellback V2 Blue Dial which will arrive Summer 2024, and I can't wait...

My favourite watch right now is a Windseeker Green Dial which I wear a LOT!

Agree 100% that these watches are phenomenal.

Pretty nice watch!
I've Got 2 Ch. Wards, but this is very interesting thing. This bracelet, this dial looks very atractive 👍

I am really glad you got a chance to test out this timepiece, I totally agree with your commentary and observations.
Also, well done also on the photographic side in displaying how that blue dial actually looks in differing light. Excellent review 🙏

The quality of this model for the $$ is unbelievable. The amount of care and fine detail despite the price…closest I can think of in the microbrand space is Formex, and the Essence costs twice as much - granted, the movement is much better. Still, I’m super impressed by Tusenö and I really dig this model! The hour hand reminds me of Breguet, and I love the blue lume with the blue dial. Nearly perfect offering under $1k

It may have been reflections from the crystal but in a few of the macros it looked as if there were issues with the finishing on the hands. Is this the case or were those just reflections? Thank you

Love the overall design, but something that really makes me avoid this watch is the clearly visible dust particles on the hands. Can see them without magnification glass.

A small criticism though, if Tusenö is listening: no bolder markers at certain points makes it harder to read. I’d take the black triangle markers at 12/3/6/9 on the chapter ring, and add them at each hour marker. As well as a thicker line or circle underneath the numbers in the bezel

Got it at preorder! Bargain of the year!

It's obviously a very good watch, although I much prefer the Christopher Ward. I would also suggest you look at the Peren Nera Rogue for a quality Swiss made dive watch for well under £1000

It's kind of Ok, but I think there are nicer watches out there for a similar price. I think I would prefer something from Chris Ward. In actual fact I recently bought a Batavi Kosmopoleit which I consider is nicer

That abomination of a bracelet clasp is an absolute deal breaker for me.

I stopped watching his reviews after he become a christopher ward fanboy.

Even 400 euros is too expensive for this boring watch
