For anyone wondering why this isn’t banned yet. Read into GRAS laws. Easily the most anti consumer and anti science law ever passed. And because of market fundamentalist US hysteria, on top of GRAS laws the FDA needs to prove they are harmful. Instead of companies needing to prove that they are 100% safe.
