Should we get our reptiles moving more and actually chasing after their food? I thought I'd try something new out with my leopard gecko.

I do this with mealworms. I just have him chasing them around my room. Unfortunately I do have carpet so I get a little scared their small claws might get stuck, but I’m always monitoring my geckos when I have them out of the enclosure.

I have a gecko who gets bored with his food and when he goes off it, I take him out and let him "hunt" like this and sometimes it helps and he eats.

I love the tail rattle/shake that they do when they see food and how they stare at it with muse. So cute. 😄

I love how calm he just picks up the wax worm ❤

Thank you so much for these tips! I’m going to soon be getting my leopard gecko, and I’m so excited thanks to you.

I just always place the food via tongs alternating each side of terrarium. Or put feeder on top of a hide or log. She works a bit for it but not anything too crazy. It is fun to watch them hunt.

I once thought that my baby's eyesight was failing but turns out that she was just being defiant for a couple weeks. She shocked me with her sharp eyes when she was ready to eat on her own time 😂

Half the time, mine won't find the food unless I hold it in front of her face so she can take it from my hand.

This is typically how I feel all my pets. It’s always best to do outside of their habitat

This is why I like feeding crickets. I get my Leo 1 or 2 at a time so she could chase them around. So enriching for them!

We do this every other night when we feed our bearded dragons. It's so fun to watch them run after dubia roaches and crickets.

That’s such a great idea! For anyone who has the time, this is a perfect solution to getting them exercise and feeding them at the same time.
I bet an exercised reptile is happier reptile. Just like any other pet, like a dog., .

And it’s enriching! I love it with my beardies

I always feed my gecko in a separate bin because she's not the brightest... The dubias would absolutely end up hiding in her tank XD

This is such a good idea! Although I don’t take my geckos out of their terrariums to feed them, I try to do the same inside their terrariums!😁(also I do know that the gecko in this video is a Leopard gecko😁)

My leo will only eat tong-fed mealworms and if they aren’t wiggly anough she wont eat them 😂she even went on a hunger strike for a month and a half because she refused to eat the dubias or mealworm beetles I fed her (there were no larvae cause they hadn’t hatched yet) but the monent I found a mealworm she gobbled it right up

Definitely need to try this with my leo Beans! She was rehomed to me and I think she may be overweight 😬
