Rude - Vintage 1950s Sock Hop - Style MAGIC! Cover ft. Von Smith

Awhile back, I came across a cover of our cover of "Thrift Shop," performed by an incredible young singer named Von Smith. I was so impressed that I invited him to record a Postmodern Jukebox video with us - and here's the result! Since the lyrics of the hit song, "Rude" by MAGIC! are reminiscent of lyrics from '50s tunes, we transformed the song into a proper sock hop-friendly oldies number.

You know, the point of Postmodern Jukebox is to play new music in a way that you wouldn't expect it to work. And the funny thing about this song is that you could put this exact version into a movie set in the 50's and no one would be the wiser. The lyrics actually even fit something that would have been done in that era. Bravissima.
