Please note: after further review, pure water in reality is NOT the best insulator known to man, and dielectric strength does not share a direct correlation with conductivity. It is nonetheless a great insulator, and one of the best insulators known. However, hypothetical pure water does not conduct, because it does not contain the necessary ions to conduct. In reality, even pure DI water still forms ions through Autoprotolysis and contact with Carbon Dioxide in the air. Hypothetical pure water, without those elements, does not conduct.

Remember, that as soon as you submerge things into distilled water it is distilled no more. The salts, metal oxides on the surfaces, and in your skin will make the water conductive quite quickly and as soon as electrolysis starts to take place it will become conductive in a matter of seconds as hydroxides will form.

If water does not conduct, how do we know it’s made up of oxygen and hydrogen? Two gases that form a liquid in room temperature?

I highly recommend Gerald Pollack's, The Fourth Phase of Water. He shows how water beside a hydrophilic surface separates by charge, much like plasma.

i was thinking this can be used to cool a pumping chamber for a laser i been wanting to build, unfortunately i only have the pumping medium built and never went through with getting the other components like the nd glass rod and doubling crystal and mirrors, mounts etc but di water being circulated through this system would def have helped keep the 2000 watts of light stay cool and continuously working

Was the electrical parts cleaned first?

I would fear what could dissolve from the setup and make the water conductive.

Also, as far as I know; the z-machine is a huge water capacitor!
