❓Is Surfshark easy to use?

First, I want to note that Surfshark is a really easy VPN to use. No matter if I'm using the browser extension or the desktop app, it's quick and responsive in my day-to-day work. Even if you've never used a VPN before, Surfshark should be easy to use. Especially since it has these handy "Fastest Server" and "Nearest Country" buttons. Oh, and I really dig the clean-minimalistic design that both the extension and app use.

❓Is Surfshark safe?

One of the main questions that any consumer should have is - Is Surfshark safe? Yeah, It uses great encryption that every good VPN nowadays uses. While some popular VPNs haven't been audited at all, Surfshark VPN already has 2 audits under its belt. Surfshark also implements a no-log policy, meaning they don't "log" ANY of your information, ever. An iffy thing about Surfshark is that it's located in the Netherlands. While the Netherlands don't have any data retention laws, they are a part of the 9-Eyes alliance. The 9 countries in this alliance do share intel with each other.

To help with this, Surfshark servers are all RAM-ONLY. RAM-only servers only operate on volatile RAM memory, so every time the server is restarted, all data on it is wiped clean. Overall - I think security is really strong here, and Surfshark is as great as any other TOP VPN, maybe even better.

Okay, How good is Surfshark VPN feature-wise? It comes with everything I need - a good Kill Switch, Private DNS & leak protection, and Bypasser for apps or websites. Nonetheless, I found the CleanWeb feature really useful. After running it for a few days, I noticed that it made my browsing experience significantly cleaner and didn't increase the website's loading times noticeably. While I would consider this a must-have tool, to get it, you have to opt-in to their more expensive ONE bundle.

But not everything is to my liking here. Surfshark on Mac is a bit of a mess. First, there are two Mac versions available, which just confuses users. The version downloaded from Surfsharks website lacks OpenVPN protocol and is more limited. While the Apple Store version allows you to use OpenVPN to bypass VPN restrictions, however, the Kill Switch works differently. Basically, I would recommend checking other best Mac VPN options.
