In 2024, Surfshark VPN is going to begin its sixth year in the VPN industry. Since it’s a relatively young provider, it’s weird to think of it as a Top provider, after all a lot of other best options are over a decade old… But today I will take a look at my entire experience in this Surfshark VPN review 2024. I will cover all 3 years I’ve been using it myself, and talk about all updates, all changes, and the growth Surfshark went through.

Dynamic MultiHop & Dedicated IP:

Two of the most recent changes I want to address in this review of Surfshark VPN, namely the Dynamic MultiHop and Dedicated IP features, both introduced in 2023. The former is the direct upgrade of the MultiHop feature that I haven’t used that much before, since it only provided pre-set location combinations, none of which I found particularly appealing. But now, Dynamic MultiHop allows me to chain any two servers together for additional comfort and security, which is much better, and closer to what NordVPN already offers. When adding Dedicated IP, Surfshark surprisingly made it better than competitors - it offers more than a dozen locations, while VPNs like PureVPN or CyberGhost are limited to 7 locations. Bigger choice leads to more possibilities, that’s just natural.

CleanWeb 2.0 upgrade

Not so long ago Surfshark also upgraded its specialty feature for blocking ads, trackers, and malicious links online - CleanWeb to version 2.0. Now, CleanWeb also monitors if the website you are visiting has been breached recently, and whether it was reported as containing malware. This update also makes CleanWeb closer to the level of NordVPN’s Threat Protection, which is capable of even blocking malware in downloads. The only downside is that you will need a Surfshark extension to take advantage of these improvements.

Surfshark Alternative ID release

As if that wasn’t enough for recent changes, the Surfshark Alternative ID feature also launched in 2023, following the growing trend of identity fraud in the US. This service can generate a fake persona for you to use online, complete with a burner email and email forwarding. I’ve been using it since release, and it’s honestly been game-changing to no longer have any profiling on me even on Google, it’s just crazy!

2023 Surfshark no-logs policy audit

I’ve been talking about audits in almost every review of Surfshark VPN and for a good reason. Take last year’s no-logs policy audit, for example. Not only is that a good practice to pass those audits, but Surfshark really needed it. You see, some users were still worried that Surfshark abandoned the privacy-friendly jurisdiction of the British Virgin Islands, in favor of the Netherlands jurisdiction, following the merger between Nord Security and Surfshark. This no-logs policy audit aimed to alleviate their worries, and it definitely made me more confident in Surfshark’s privacy focus. That said, Surfshark has shown this focus for a while now, after all, it was a second VPN after ExpressVPN to switch to RAM-only servers completely. If you didn’t know, these servers get completely wiped after every restart, so they retain no user data, and Surfshark went out of its way to switch its entire server grid to diskless servers.

Best features but in real life it disappointing by disconnects alot of time, nord also have the same issue, thats why i switched to proton vpn they have most secure features but the cost of speed

It didn't work for my Samsung galaxy A35 5g, my phone became terribly sluggish and i immediately canceled the subscription and uninstalled that app, and so my phone became faster like before!!!

As far as the refund goes, it doesn't give your refund back, that's absolutely very misleading info, they told me upfront: we don't give refunds back!!

In my case Surfshark didn't work on my PC or my laptop both with Windows 11 and quite standard. The support was awful even though I persevered for many weeks with their support team, the appear to have no clue. Total waste of money and I will not be renewing Surfshark.
