When you think about this question, you probably think about Texas or California first, both of which often talk about the idea of leaving the Union whenever someone they didn't vote for is sitting in the White House. However, I want to bring a different state into the picture, Hawaii, and here's why.
Hawaii was once a kingdom until the US overthrew the queen and annexed the land in 1898. Since the 1960s, Hawaii has had a relatively strong independence movement, advocating for self-governance and self-determination. But, as you probably know, according to the Constitution, states can never leave the Union.
However, Hawaii could argue that since the US illegally overthrew the queen, which they admitted in the Apology Resolution of 1993, Hawaiians never had the option to choose whether they wanted to be part of the US or not. Whether this would actually hold up and whether Hawaiian independence would even benefit them is, of course, another question.
Therefore, a secession of any state from the Union is highly unlikely in the near future.
