Would I need to add foam panels to my walls if my recording space is the corner of my bedroom? It has a wooden desk in the corner with an exposed left and rear side, and the floor is carpeted.

How about Cakewalk by Bandlab DAW. It is completly free and full featured.

Apple provides a 90 day trial version for LOGIC, it comes with over 70 gigs of samples, loops and specific drum kits, $199 USD. and it works great!.
