I wrote to (am a bit vague on this) RCA or BMG way back seeking more information on the Band and in the official letter I got back they stated that Sweet had sold over 55 million records in the first 6 years. Sadly my sister threw out sll my Sweet scrap books when we moved house (I was in the Navy at the time and not in the country).

It should be noted that nearly all their big hits were written by Chin and Chapman and they owned the publishing rights. There is a reason why John and Paul were so much richer than Ringo. Andy and the boys would get nowhere near as much as Chin and Chapman and that is why they broke free of them

Sweet and Badfinger were both great bands at about the same time in a highly competitive market that disrespected there musical talents and instead ripped them off financially, Sweet probably less so, but we all know now how good they were and although money matters to them of course their music will continue to live on.

Yeah Andy, I'd say that you and the rest of the Sweet band should have gotten a pretty huge chunk of cash for all of the records sold, because I know that where I came from around the Rockford Illinois area, there were many, many people that bought every single (or 45 record) that came out, and most even went out and bought the album's, even after having purchased the singles, or as I said, the 45's that were around back in those days!!! But if it was like that in the Rockford Illinois area, it was more than likely like that everywhere, and not just in the United States, but a lot of other countries as well!!! Until Fox On The Run their A sides where written by Chinn/Chapman but because Sweet wrote the B sides they should have made a fair few quid He does own a nice house in Wiltshire near where I live Saw him a month ago at a Jazz Sabbath gig in Devizes
