I don’t know who this guy is, but that was a brilliant point to put forward, would love to see more of him or his work.

This is an important topic. I would definitely engage with a series/ YouTube channel that explored the impact of constructed public spaces on public health. Hopefully, we can hear more from this presenter

I definitely notice how different my state of mind and wellbeing is when I live with my mum in a rundown area compared to my friend's house who has trees and birds everywhere and a clear show that money has been invested in the aesthetic of the area. Architecture and streetscape make a huge impact!

How about we build for local people, in local styles and support local businesses. High streets and corner shops over supermarkets and shopping centres. Parks instead of car parks. Trees instead of ugly art installations. Nice high ceilings and big beautiful windows that look over town squares and roads where people pass through. Let’s have mews for cars to park in and clear up our roads so they’re more inviting.

What he said, and how he said it. Nicely stated. And a pleasure to have heard.

I'm always thankful that Melbourne, where I'm from, has put importance on parks, nature reserves, bike trails, and a garden city approach.

I dislike so much modern architecture. We have made many town and cities look miserable and harsh. We definitely underestimate the effect it has upon us. If you want people to care about where they live, give them a reason to.

Articulated exactly how I have felt for so long. Growing up on a council estate and seeing the new builds going up, taking up beautiful green spaces, and countless grey, harsh-lined flats, sky scrapers and flats look so ugly and oppressive to me. Nature really does need to be incorporated into all architecture. I hope plans can be made to improve how these look now.

Well why don’t you tell the contractors to stop rejecting our designs and stop thinking solely on economics and you might end up with more buildings built for humanity like the Barbican…

Most architecture post 1920's has been an eyesore in this country.

Why don't you start by building beautiful and not ugly.

Thanks great but do you have a solution?

This topic has merits for sure, but this guy is too wrapped up in his own victimhood to fulfil the potential of the video.
