Richard Rohr - Panentheism (False Teaching)

Richard Rohr self identifies as a panentheist ("all in God"), which means he believes that every thing carries the divine DNA, or every thing is "Christ." Since all of creation is Christ or in Christ, he teaches that we don't need an "atonement" (being reconciled to God), but rather views "atonement" as needing to recognize that we are already "at-one" with God. This of course is unbiblical, and has more in common with New Age beliefs than Christianity. God is omnipresent, and upholds the universe by the word of His power, but He is distinct and separate (holy) from His creation. Man is also not carrying the "divine DNA" (as in already reconciled to God). Scripture describes man as being "dead in sin" needing to be "born again" spiritually, not part of God (Ephesians 2:1, John 3:5).
