Louis Cole is a master of mixing genres and presenting his music in a way that's always fun to watch. More then 10 years ago he started creating his first YouTube videos and later on started publishing full length albums as well. Besides his own solo project the multi instrumentalist is well known for his duo project Knower. Here's our take on his drum sound.

Just goes to show that the magic sauce in LC’s drum sound is… him. You could approximate his sound with almost any kit, and I’ve tried. What I don’t have is his nervous energy, left-handedness, and endurance - he is one of the most athletic drummers I’ve ever seen.

In Fuck It Up Louis is actually striking the bell in groupings of 3, not 2 like Pascal plays. Which is just bananas.

At first you said he uses cheap entry level drums, but then Saya he usually used a Ludwig black beauty. Only one of the most expensive snares on thr market lol

I’ve never heard of Louis Cole but I gotta admit that his minimalist setup is pretty cool, I’d love to see a video on Nick Mason, Joey Kramer (Aerosmith), Matt Halpern, Max Weinberg (Bruce Springsteen), Ginger Baker, John Densmore (The Doors), Patrick Carney (Thd Black Keys), Bill Bruford, Matt Garstka (Animals As Leaders), Aaron Solowonuik (Billy Talent), Tim “Herb” Alexander (Primus) or Brandon Barnes (Rise Against) if you haven’t gotten to any of them yet
