Native American Coin Program

The Native American Coin Program is a commemorative coin series launched by the United States Mint in 2009. The program was established to honor the achievements and contributions of Native American tribes and individuals in American history. The obverse of each coin features the profile of Sacagawea, the Shoshone woman who served as a guide and interpreter for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The reverse of each coin features a unique design that represents a different aspect of Native American culture or history.
