iOS 12 Beta on iPad - 18 New CHANGES & FEATURES!

Apple's WWDC conference just wrapped up and the big headliner was the new iOS 12 operating system. Although we saw a lot of the new features iOS 12 will be bringing to the iPhone X, we barley saw the new operating system running on the iPad or iPad Pro. iOS 12 is actually an important step towards uniting the software experience between the iPhone and iPad. It also paves the way for a new iPad Pro without a home button and Face ID.

I really don't like that they got rid of control center and app switcher being in the same place. It was more convenient on iOS 11 and made better use of space on the screen..

The gestures are unnecessary confusing. I am used to using 4 finger swipe up for multitask for years. Then in iOS 11, swiping all the way up from bottom brings multitask. Now iOS 12 you have to swipe and hold to multitask. What iOS 12 should bring back is the 2 panels shortcuts in notification panel from iOS 10 and keeping the multitask + control centre panel. Apple should give users the choice to select which method they prefer, because it’s completely unnecessary for users to waste the time to adapt to a new gesture when they still have the home button.

I hope no notch. I use my 10.5 in landscape 95% of the time. And it would be pretty weird

You don’t need to swipe up slowly to avoid going home when you want to bring the dock . Just swipe up normally or really quick, but keep your finger at the bottom where the dock bar is. It makes perfect sense since your finger is supposed to be in that place when you want to switch to another app from the dock, it is an awesome gesture, just give it time to get used to it.

So glad swipe up for home is coming to iPad. I have an iPhone X and am so used to swiping for home that every time I use my iPad I always accidentally go to control centre. I also tend to swipe from the top for control centre (as per iPhone X) so I am soo glad this is happening. I can imagine people who don’t have a X would find these changes pretty jarring and somewhat less efficient than how they currently are, but for me they are so much better

Why removing a control center from the bottom swipe gesture view? it was useful and was better presentation with screen shared with multitasking. Oh apple you probably will f* it up

Can you swipe up to get to multitasking from an app, or can you only do it from home? Because that's stupid.

Thanks for your video! After the update I thought that the Control Center was gone when I needed to adjust my volume and brightness quickly. I seriously was upset for 3 days whenever I used my iPad because I had to keep going into my settings to adjust them.

I don’t think there will be a notch on the ipad! The ipad would be used in both orientation so it would be difficult to have a notch. And anyway the bezels (even those on the 10.5 ipad pro if they go all around) are enough to include face id sensors - and you need a bit of bezels to use the ipad

there's an echo on your mic. with my AirPods i can tell. nice video. it surely makes clear new iPads will come soon, hopefully with the iPhone X design.

So many gestures will mean tons of fingerprints. Throughout the day I already spend lots of time cleaning the screen (just one touch leaves a mark), and after testing the four finger swipe gesture it left tons of fingerprint marks. Also, I don’t like how they moved the control center (swiping up was more convenient) and I liked having the time positioned at the top center of the screen.

I'm sure the newer iPad side bezels are going to be the same as the current 10.5 iPad. But the top and bottom bezel will shrink dramatically.
