How To Get a Guaranteed Five Star in Genshin Impact

There are a ton of little factors that all line up with the Genshin Impact wishing system, and this video just gently scratches the surface to give anyone who is unfamiliar with the pity system a very general idea. For some specifics, I will have a comment pinned in the comments explaining what the '50/50' means, as well as detailing specifics for the weapon banner, and other important notes about the respective banners and how pity works across them.

Hey guys! This video just scratches the general surface, but in this comment I have a lot of other information regarding the wish system that is important to know.

Does pity accumulate across all banners?
- No. Wishes are counted separately on each banner type. For example, if you pull 50 times on the Standard/Permanent Wish banner and 40 on the Character Event Wish banner, you are not guaranteed a five star character. You need to pull 90 times on the Character Event Wish OR 90 times on the Standard Wish Banner.

How does pity work when there are two character event banners going simultaneously?
- Genshin occasionally has it where there is two Character Event Wish type banners going on simultaneously (typically two reruns or one rerun and one new character) The wishes accumulate across both. For example, if you pull 40 times on Shenhe's banner and then go pull 50 times on Xiao's banner, you will get a five star on Xiao's banner.

Do the number of wishes stay across all character event banners?
- Yes! If you pull 50 times on one updates banner and then pull another 40 on the next updates banner, you will get the five star on the second updates banner. For example, I pulled 65 times on Itto's banner, and pulled 15 on Shenhe's and got Shenhe.

Are you guaranteed to get the promotional character on the Character Event banner?
- No. The way CE (Character Event) banner works is that you have a 50% chance of pulling the advertised character, and a 50% chance of pulling a SW (standard wish) character (Mona, Jean, Keqing, Diluc, Qiqi). If you pull a character that isn't advertised, the next character you pull on the CE banner get is guaranteed to be the promoted character. Once you get the promoted character, the chance of pulling the promoted character is back to 50/50. This guaranteed rule goes across banners as it updates.

What is the weapon banners pity requirements?
- I don't know the exact specifics, but I've heard hard pity is 75 and soft pity is around 60. (If anyone knows specifically feel free to reply to this and I will edit it.)

What worries me is that from when I finished shenhe's quest I just want her so bad I am relatively new to the game so I still try to understand this pity stuff. The sad thing is that on the current banners that promote hu tao and Yelan I got Hu tao. Which don't get me wrong is a good thing but I am not sure I had more than 90 pity when I got her and this worries me because on the next character event wishes the second phase of 3.5 shenhe and kamisato ayaka will have reruns and I want them both but Shenhe moree. I hope there is a way for me to get shenhe. I currently have 8030 primogems and 5 intertwined fates. I am trying to save as much as I can for shenhe
