I first heard about Lake Balaton as I was preparing our trip to Hungary, while looking for places to visit outside Budapest. Even though this is one of the most popular attractions in the country and the largest lake in Central Europe, I had never heard about it before! So after a few weeks of planning, I managed to squeeze 2 days in Lake Balaton, so we could explore some of the most popular locations as well as some hidden gems.

I visited Hungary with my family many years ago when I was a child and still have a vague memory of it, my Grandma was originally from Hungary but escaped to England in the WW2, I’ve always wanted to go back there to see what it’s like now and visit some of my Grandma’s side of the family but never managed to get the time to do so, finding your video was great especially to see some of the places I remember, Thanks for the great video 👍

Hello Dani! I loved your video! If you like the Tapolcai Tavasbarlang Then I highly recommend the Aggtelek Stalactite Cave, which is the largest cave system in Hungary and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plus, there’s plenty to do in that region. I also recommend the eastern regions of Hungary to visit, for example, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Heves county or even Hajdú-Bihar county, as there are still the greatest values ​​of our country!
