3 Jazz Protest Songs

#Jazz may be a mostly instrumental music genre, but it still contributed to the history of music in #protest and civil rights. Most jazz protest songs come from the civil rights movement of the 1960s, but not all of them.

Also yes, I know I pronounced a few things wrong in this video, including the French bit and I think Orval Faubus' surname. Although I don't really care about Faubus because he was trash.

A small correction: Four & More wasn't recorded after the death of Martin Luther King Jr. MLK was killed in 1968, while Four & More was recorded in 1964. I'm not sure where I got the false information from on the first place, but it was clearly wrong. Thanks to xooxanthellae on Reddit for picking it up.

i like jazz, but its not easy to navigate yourself through the variety of jazz movements.
your videos, on one hand - expose the deep's of jazz music and on another hand - put the structure to "why" and "what" - and this in very important for the people who are trying to find their way in the world of jazz
