In the basement of a high performance home, these insulated concrete forms (ICF) are insulated on both the inside and the outside of the concrete wall, giving the ultimate thermal protection and reducing thermal transfer. ICF will be a standard foundation in the near future as we move progressively toward a more efficient house.
