low carb / keto made me have a life...finally. Depression gone, thoughts clearer, joy of life, power for some sports, found controll over my life and all of a sudden my thyroid heals!? Every then and a while I have some sushi, that's ok, but as soon as I have candy etc. my brain is a fog and my afternoon breakdowns cost me up to 4 precious hours lifetime each day.

I haven’t been diagnosed but I do have focusing problems and I have several times had these same exact thoughts about changing things to see what happens such as diet, moving more, exercising, and getting away from technology. This does make perfect sense.

I'm in my fitness journey. Sweet potatoes and carbs are necessary. Gives me lasting energy, in and out of the gym. Adding to that high protein, I've been simultaneously gaining muscle while losing fat. I'm the inattentive type ADD. All other points but #1 do I agree with for me.

I will say. After finally getting a diagnosis at 37, and trying medication. I can honestly say, for me, my symptoms are much better controlled with animal based very low carb, and regular strength training.

The timing of your computer chime emphasizes what you’re saying ❤ I’m making dietary changes but I have a young kid who is 1) dx with ASD, 2) a picky eater, and 3) likely ADHD (based on behavior and both parents having it).
Might you have a direction to point me in regarding successful implementation of dietary changes under those circumstances? 😅 And thank you so much for sharing info that is super beneficial yet not always widely known. You are helping many ❤

A lot of people struggle to eat anything as it is, let’s try not to limit people’s food choices especially if they are taking meds that’ll decrease there appetite
