His Majesty The King praises artist David Hockney's "galoshes" as he hosts a luncheon for Members of the Order of Merit at Buckingham Palace.

Upon seeing the yellow boots, the King told Hockney that they were “beautifully chosen”.

The Order of Merit is a special mark of honour, recognising individuals of exceptional distinction in the arts, learning, sciences and other areas such as public service.
