The button on the side is only necessary for going into reverse. You don’t need to press it to transition between N-D-M

I just hope the switch is watertight. Imagine spilling water on the center console. 😢

There is no reason for manufacturers to keep trying to reinvent shifters. It's trying to be different purely for the sake of being different. People have literally died because of this nonsense.

You don’t have to press that lock out button to get into Neutral or Drive and Manual Mode. Just for Reverse just like the 2023 Nissan Rogue

My Audi has the Reverse in front with the same side button you have to press, so I’ll be ready once I get this as my next car

My rogue has the same thing and I hate it. I’ve put it in reverse when I meant to put it in park so many times!

Don't need to push the button to pull back, only when going into reverse

Not sure why people have a problem with this design. It's no different from the normal ones. Push the side and put it in reverse. Pull it and you get neutral and drive. Only big thing is there's a button for park. The haters are probably Apple people too. Can't stand anything that's not designed for a 5 year old.
