3D Model a Gingerbread Cookie in Maya 2023

Hi Creators,
Happy holidays! This tutorial is inspired by the holiday spirit. ☃️
In this video tutorial, we create a gingerbread cookie in Maya 2023. Starting with a simple box, we extrude to get the shape. We also use QuadDraw to get some of the details. The next tutorial is UV Mapping and Texturing!
It's a festive tutorial, so let's get started!

Great as always! I teach Maya in college, and I still like watching beginner tutorials as I try to second guess what you are going to do next. The only thing I'd change is the type of bevel - if you do 2 sections and 'uniform' it automatically creates quads :)

I don't have much confidence in 3d Modeling in Maya, but do you have tutorials on making anime characters with rigs and all that? I've been wanting to do so for a while

Base body models are easy for me to figure out, but I lose confidence in the head/eyes and hair.

I never got around self teaching myself with clothes either haha

Oh god I miss Maya so much. Learning Blender has been a totally nightmare. Especially when having to navigate with a Mac laptop which I use at work. Of course their keyboard is a bit different. Like, I can’t use the usual standard keys - W, E, R, Q
Just doesn’t work on that system. I literally have to manually select the transform tools.
Look, blender had its advantages, but Jesus man, it’s hasn’t been a smooth experience.
If wavefront makes Maya available for free again, for hobbyists, I’ll jump back onto that like a crack addict back to his favourite drugs.

This is not a beginner friendly tutorial. This goes way too fast, and doesn't explain how to do every element of it. Waste of time for beginners!
