Awesome video! I took the fast path, lol. I did the Google Cybersecurity Certificate. It took me two months to finish. Afterward, I spent nine days studying and taking practice exams for CompTIA Security + and passed on the first try. I ended up landing a job as a network technician. It's my first IT job, and it pays well and has benefits!

I am 70k in my current job as a supervisor. I want to get into cybersecurity but I can’t start at help desk for 15 an hour. I’m going to start with google cybersecurity certificate, security +, SYSA+ and finally get a CEH. That’s my road map game plan. I want to work from home and go to chipotle on lunch lol.

currently working on the Google cert while already having passed the Sec+ months ago, hopefully these will help cover up the years of doing shitty dead end retail jobs & allows a company to finally take a chance on me and actually start a worthwhile career, looking forward to more vids of yours madhat

Hey man, thanks for the content you upload. I started watching your videos a couple months ago during my internship and I got the Security + like you've mentioned on your channel. I'm now 1 month into my new job as a full time security analyst making a statistically dummy high amount of money for my age. Thanks for the epic content and keep it up!

4:26 - My (community) college experience was actually super cheap. I spend around $40 a semester bc of financial aid, and my first 2 years were totally free (even got paid to go). I have been able to get ITF+, Sec+, CySA+, AWS CCP, and soon Pentest+ for free because of them being included in the courses.

I worked on a helpdesk for 2 years after getting my A+. Eventually applied for a vacancy on the Cyber team and got it as the manager wanted to promote and train from within. Just recently had a course and exam for Sec+ paid for by the business and was starting to look into what other certs to go for, so this is really helpful. We apparently are getting some licenses for Hack the Box, so looking forward to that, but definitely want more certs I can stick on my CV.

Appreciate these, currently figuring out what path i want to take. Leaning toward network based certs and blue team. I tried part of the Google IT cert, may go back to it. Been largely self taught and YouTube is nice for that because it offers a lot of great tutorials. Have about a year of in person help desk support/computer sales at the moment.

Took ISC2 CC, got a SOC job, and 6 months in I just got my sec+, net+, cysa+, pentest+ in 45 days.
I would say just apply throughout the entire process.. doesnt hurt. Know the concepts, and have projects.
I see people with masters, bachelors, every cert and projects and cant get a job.. issue is, resume is shit and they dont want to hear it though I just say it as blatantly. It is what it is. Keep applying from start to finish and edit your resume as you go.. maybe even daily. It works. This is all this year, 2023. The shit market.

Solid video, thank you! I got my Sec+ last summer, then yesterday got my Cysa+ - YAY! Tough exam and I was thrilled to see I passed it. Ultimate goal is CISSP :)

Nice video, makes me feel more confident in the path I've laid out for myself. I did the CC just to get a feel for whether or not I am interested enough in cybersecurity, passed it successfully and have been working my way through the Google Cert, planning on tackling Sec+ after and have been applying for internships to get some first hands on experience to also help my CV when applying for first entry level positions.

Cpts is around 10x harder than oscp. But oscp will get to a job interview quicker

The CPTS is super hard and an awesome cert. I wish more HR knew about it. It’s so much better at showing pentesting skills than OSCP
