I like that tank lift idea not only for the heat reduction, but I can get to my chrome heads and clean them easier.

I enjoyed listening to bike tech talk even though I'm a Goldwing guy, I love the classic looks on the Harley. Ride safe fellas.

I have removed left side heat shield, added tank lift, air wing deflector which also helped my head buffeting, and floorboard extensions which has really helped riding comfort. Tomorrow installing 606 air cleaner and EBS and VIED. Thanks for all your videos and advice.

My 1978 Low Rider has been very cool since parking it in my house decades ago. My flat twin does very well in hot weather

All from DK Customs I have a hi-flow air cleaner, titanium heat wrap, floor board relocation, external breather system and TTI's. My bike is very comfortable to ride!

Here in Nevada I do just the opposite with the thigh wind deflectors, .Above 80 degrees I put them back on so my legs don't cook. I tried just taking the left hand side off and about roasted my leg above 80 degrees. The floorboard bump outs help out way more than some might think, that is a Great tip. Plus they are needed with cooling fans so my leg sits more level/straight.

I totally agree with these tips and have done most of them. However, Pipe wrap? A friend wrapped the pipes on his Shovel and it did keep the heat in but the pipes got so hot that they basically disintegrated.

Thanks Brothers you've taught me some new strategies for cooler operation. Respect

While i haven't done any mods to bring the overall heat temps down, I did open the right side vent. It seemed to lower temps slightly, but open it relieved the heat felt on the inside of the leg and foot.

Number 12 - Point your bike north and ride really, really fast for a long, long time. Not free per se, but lots and lots of fun!

If you wanna spend some money to cool your M8, and get some more power, a canned tune with FP3 cooled my bike significantly. I went in further and changed some of the AFR tables myself, dropping the highest AFR on the table from 14.41 down to 13.90, and changing closed loop AFR from 14.30 min/14.91 max, down to 14.10 max/13.80 min. Cooled my bike down even further.

So glad you are teaching the proper way to ride. I've never thought riding your clutch at high rlms is wise. Just like driving a stick shift car...

I used my FP3 to add the first level of "decelpop" (there was no decel pop on my 107). The extra fuel on deceleration keeps the temp about 10 deg cooler.

The biggest difference I have felt was to direct the air vents in my lowers at the engine as opposed to open them wide open. I don’t have a way of checking engine temperature but it definitely has helped the heat I feel on my legs.

My 04 ultra runs so hot in the summer that I don’t even want to ride it but I think one of, if not the biggest problem is the true duals with the pipe that comes off the rear jug and directly under my left leg, can’t tell you how many times I’ve burnt my leg on it but I have a 2 into 1 that I’m going to install and do the heat deflectors and hopefully that’ll help, my superglide runs so much cooler it’s not funny but it’s also not a long distance bike, thanks for the vids guys, gonna try some of your suggestions

I added the defector wings, new headers (no cats) ultra cool oil cooler on my 2020 trike and I just rode it hard for an hour and my oil temp was 190 on a stage 2 build 🙌

Also I have the DK catch can

I just installed the transformer catch can. And the 828 air filter. Looks fantastic!

Kevin, I wrapped my bassani header tonight, but now read some techs saying the heat trapped in the header by wrap has molten effect on some headers and that most vendors will not warranty headers that have been wrapped!! Thank you for your replies to all our questions, reason I wanted to wrap is hot hot right foot/ankle with just shields!
