A fantastic video all around! I had a customer approach me with a $850 budget for his son, this budget required me to not only make a pc, but also for the monitor and mouse and keyboard. with a little bit of strugglin' and compromise, I managed to lock it down within the budget using this processor. and used the spare cash to buy a higher wattage powersupply so the customer could upgrade to a discrete gpu down the line.

I think I’m gonna do this build for my sibling, was gonna get them a gaming laptop but I think I’d appreciate the ability to upgrade to a gpu in a couple of years.

Ryzen 5600G or 5700G iGPU builds are perfect for workhorse systems with great retro / budget gaming options. With M.2 SSD's, easier to build with less cable management, too.

Quick reminder that there are some really nice and cheap b450 boards that can be used with Ryzen 5000 by updating the bios, even better, MSI motherboards have bios flashback, so you don't need an old CPU to update te bios, The MSI B450-A PRO MAX, it's a good choice for 90 dollars

This was the type of build I recommended to my 14 year old nephew. Perfectly good for a lot of games, but you can add a GPU when (if, ha!) prices settle down.
