I have a weird question. See, we plant trees and that takes more than a decade for a tree to absorb tonnes of CO2.

So, Why can't we just photosynthesise in labs 10x faster and store them somewhere?

Look, I'm all for planting trees, but let's not pretend here. Planting trees has many benefits. Logging has devastated natural environments and the habitats of many endangered species. Planting more trees will provide more habitat for a more diverse and healthier ecosystem. I have no problem with, and very much encourage people to plant trees.

BUT, planting trees will not do a damn thing at all to combat climate change. Even planting 20 million, even if you planted 20 million every single day, even if you covered the entire surface of the planet with rain forest, none of it will make any significant impact on the amount of carbon that we have and continue to pump into the atmosphere.
