Let's break down some of the most expensive functionally unique Universes Beyond (UB) cards in all of Magic the Gathering. From cards from limited time Secret Lairs to cards from one of the biggest sets in Magic's history, I break down the five most expensive cards out there.

In this video we are looking at the 5 most expensive "functionally unique" Universes Beyond cards. This term is being used to represent cards that were printed as Universes Beyond cards for their first printing. This means reprints, printed into a Universes Beyond product do not count. This list also only uses the cheapest printing of each card, representing the cheapest playable copy of that card that you could get your hands on. So, while a card on this list may have a more expensive version, we are only looking at the cheapest printing.

I just sold 4 of mye 1 rings for 70 per at a card shop. Its a little to powerful, like a crutch. When it comes out its hard not to abuse. Still got 1 or 2 floating around in one of my commander decks,

Orchish Bowmaster can easily be reprinted without even changing the name, it's a really generic concept.

I hope the others (and many other cards) get universes within reprint, so that there's an art and flavour for everyone.

My hope is that the Reaver Titan reprint looks like a 70s Super Robot.

Orcish Bowmaster does NOT punish card draw! Most of the time it just pings stuff of a player that's not even drawing cards!!

Bowmasters isn’t “mechanically unique” it’s terribly designed. The card deserved to be banned when it warped not one but TWO formats (modern, commander) and still nothing has been done about it. Razorkin Needlehead at least had the decency to be 2 colored mana and not have a secondary effect that directly benefits you no matter when it’s played. Oh, and it’s not instant speed.

Bowmasters done NEEDED a ban. Frankly it deserved it as much as Nadu and Crypt, and more than Dockside or Lotus. It’s good to punish draw players but “in response, suck my nuts” is not the way to do it. The only reason it wasn’t banned was because its premium product compared to the other 3 and Nadu was a legitimately recognized design error on WotC’s end.
