Some good shooter have a bit of thumb flick... So should you fix it?

My answer is... yes. You should be trying. Those shooters aren't good BECAUSE of that habit. They are good IN SPITE of that habit.

And the amount they thumb flick is usually WAY smaller than the amount a younger player thumb flicks.

this is so key, and almost no shooting coach ever talks about it. the shooting hand/thumb has to be wide on the ball, first and foremost.

Some great examples of players who use thumb flick are Stephen curry, Kyrie irving, Trae young.
Note: only use the thumb flick if you are comfortable with it and to add more power to your shot, most small guards use it.
