I wanted to make sure I could pack all my possessions, that is, everything I own, as an extreme minimalist into a carry on. This was to make sure I wouldn’t come unstuck at a later date by learning I still had too many possessions to reach the goal of only traveling with carry on luggage.

A while back I lived with just 33 items that I could pack comfortably into a small backpack but I wanted to see how much space I had or if I was over my luggage allowance, when attempting to Pack All my 84 possessions. So in this video we discover where I am at. I did this so that if I decided I wanted less, I would have time to declutter intentionally, before the time comes that we depart. I'm now thinking in litre packing capacity rather than counting and numbering my items.

This is my dream! I just did a huge declutter and kept asking myself if I moved to another country would I keep this? Which made it easier to get rid of things but there are still a number of things left to downsize. At least it all fits in my van now so I’m ready to go adventure and hopefully get rid of more by the end of summer. 🎉

It's important to remind ourselves not to jump on the bandwagon without fully understanding the true meaning of minimalism - i.e. intentionally promoting the things we most value and removing things that distracts us from it. Counting the items we own is not minimalism....it is NOT an important metric that defines us as a true minimalist. Don't fall into the trap of focusing on the minimalist esthetics but focus on the ethics.

I was the happiest most when all my belongings fit in a suit case and a small bag….this was before I knew anything about minimalism, after i brought a house and filled it up with stuff. I was always anxious, in my own home. I could never finish anything, I had stress, and so own. My goal is to get ride 90 percent of my belongings house included and a live a simple free life.

One day I wish I can achieve such simplicity. 😍 Lately everything that has been causing me a headache has been put into donation. Not even going to stress out trying to make a few dollars off things I got from the thrift stores.

Amazing.🥰 I’m trying to make a memory box for items that mean the most to me. That will give me the freedom to let go of the rest, other than things I need, use or love.

I'm roughly down to 2 tubs that size excluding clothes and bedding. I have lego on display which if broken down can hopefully fit in to one of the tubs 🙂

Amazing. This is something I’m working toward for my living space. Only exception is tools and it’s crazy to say it all gets used for as much as I have. My tools occupy 1600sq/ft while my home is 160sq/ft

I have a similar setup, everything i own fits between two 32qt plastic totes. Clothing in one, personal belongings in the other.

That’s still way more than what some people have. In the orphanage everything was shared except toothbrushes.
